Going Green with Design

Lifestyle Design is timeless.  It ebbs and flows as your family collects memories and matures.  Furnishings that have grown with you become your friends and add that reassuring feeling and comfort to your surroundings.  The true use of green is that it never goes out of style and always has the place in your home.  You don’t trade it in for a new trend.

Even more green is the retention of those pieces you may have grown up with - mom and dads treasured pieces, your grandmothers bedroom suite, a dining room made of wood that you can no longer get and quality that is outstanding.   Folding these pieces into your lifestyle design - creating the warmth and comfort of your history and blending it into your lifestyle  - rather than sending these treasures to the landfill - now that is green design!

Good furniture or family heirlooms can create a green design.   These piesces can become modern or contemporary through the use of accessories and paint colors.   You can use the low voc paints, current colors and placement to enhance the furnishings.   The placement of the furniture does not have to be traditional. Display it as fits your style and use.   Even draperies can be done with cleaner lines.   Within the  contemproary style the furniture detail is enhanced and is much more beautiful as the details becomes more pronunced in the simpler setting.
